Not one, but two future leaders emerged from a recent process to elect the next Chapter Chair.
I’m delighted that Mel Smith, our current Marketing and Communications Director, has been elected as Vice Chair for the remainder of this year and will go on to become Chapter Chair at the start of 2019. Mel has made a significant contribution since joining the Board earlier in the year, and I’m certain that her proactive and constructive approach will be of huge benefit in helping to take the chapter forward. Mel will perform both her Marcomms and Vice Chair roles until the end of the year, after which the search will be on for a new Marcomms Director…
In addition to Mel’s appointment, Gareth Earle has been elected to become next year’s Vice Chair, becoming the Chapter Chair in 2020. Gareth has also made a strong start to his time on the Board as Membership Director and has shown all the attributes to become an exceptional Chapter Chair.
I wish both Mel and Gareth all the very best in their future roles, and I look forward to the continuing evolution of APMP UK!
Below are a few words from Mel and Gareth.
Jon Darby - APMP UK Chapter Chair
I'm delighted to be appointed as Vice Chair for the remainder of 2018 alongside my role as Marketing and Communications Director. I will give my full support to Jon Darby as Chair with his aims of promoting a transparent and accessible chapter, encouraging the next generation of bid and proposal professionals, and investing in member benefits.
I look forward to meeting as many members as possible at this year’s conference in October and would value any feedback and suggestions as to what you would like to see from your UK Chapter in the future.
I’m thrilled to have been chosen to be Vice Chair in 2019 and Chair in 2020. I look forward to working with Mel Smith during her time as Chair next year, supporting her in her aims and objectives for the benefit of our members.
Like Mel, I shall also be at this year’s conference in October and will be keen to talk to as many of our attendees as possible to discuss their thoughts on the UK Chapter with both my Membership Director and future positions in mind.
