Throughout January and February this year, your APMP UK Chapter Board has focused on long range planning - reviewing the successes and lessons learned from the 2017-2020 Chapter strategy, digesting the feedback from the recent Chapter member survey, and identifying the path for the next three years.
I am pleased to share the three main aims of APMP UK Strategy 2020:
To deliver on our strategy, your Board has developed, ratified and prioritised business plans for key enabling projects. Details on these will be communicated very soon along with ways in which you can contribute to the success of your Chapter into this decade for the benefit of us all.
My key aim of this is to drive the growth of our membership, not just in terms of numbers, but also in the support of you as individuals so you have access to benefits that develop you within you careers in the Bid and Proposal Profession.
We look forward to our profession reaping the huge rewards that the APMP UK Rapport Mentoring programme offers.

I am pleased to announce that as part of the broadcast, Rick confirmed APMP UK as the first chapter to become a Chapter Ambassador, fully supporting this incredible opportunity for us all to grow in our profession.

As we face the challenges and uncertainty that COVID-19 brings, the health and safety of our members and the general public is of upmost importance. We would like to update all APMP UK members on your Board’s risk mitigation actions.
In October 2019, your Board started planning for the APMP UK 2020 Conference. Given recent events, we are regularly reviewing the situation. As of today, your Board has every intention of running this year’s Conference (13th and 14th October) and Professional Development Day (12th October). We are also adjusting our contingency plans accordingly, including the potential for a virtual conference and/or moving the date.
In line with Government guidelines, APMP UK’s regional face-to-face events scheduled in the next month have been postponed. We are working to rearrange these events as appropriate. In parallel, we are expediting APMP UK’s webinar programme to continue to deliver members the benefits of insights, best practice from within and beyond the membership. We invite those with valuable insights for their peers that could be shared through a webinar to contact us now, so we may consider your submission for the webinar programme.
We will, of course, provide regular updates regarding any impact UK Government mandates have on all our planned face-to-face events.
Your Board is always contactable through our website and on a one-to-one basis and we encourage all members to use the LinkedIn APMP UK Rapport Forum for virtual discussions on topics that may help us all get through the current situation.
Above all, look after yourselves both physically and mentally – we are here for each other.
