Passionate about the craft of winning business through competitive tendering, Peter is delighted to take on this new role as the Professional Development Director for APMP UK. He sees this as an excellent opportunity to help the industry by implementing the chapter’s exciting initiatives to promote the professional growth of its members. His aim is to champion the development of a clear career path for the next generation of bid and proposal professionals.
Typical for people in the industry, Peter stumbled into becoming a business development professional. Following a successful career in the Royal Air Force as a senior officer in the Engineer branch, he joined Babcock as a Business Development Manager. He then moved to Raytheon as Head of Technical Services where he successfully reorganises the various disparate repair facilities and outsourcing contacts into an integrated support organisation.
Since 2006, he has been providing independent advice, guidance and support to a wide range of companies of all sizes in the preparation of winning tenders. This has now developed into a full-service agency, BiD Masters, that aids all aspects of capture planning and bid preparation. Notably, being a preferred supplier to major multinational corporations in defence, aviation, maritime, technology and public transport sector.
