As an APMP UK chapter member for 10 years, my membership allows me to continually learn emerging best practise, through attending a variety of events such as the annual conference, frequent webinars, and regional roadshows.
The chapter has increased my awareness and supported my understanding of UK specific challenges such as the introduction of the Procurement Act, and the rising importance of social value in tender responses.
Membership has allowed me to give back to the bidding arena, through the development and introduction of the RADIC focus group, building a community for fellow R&D Bid Professionals and making a positive difference.

I have been a APMP member for many years now and I enjoy the benefits of the membership as much now as I did when I first joined. I became aware of the great work of the UK chapter when I first attended the annual APMP UK conference a few years ago: I was so impressed that I reached out to the Social Value working group on the day and became a member right away. The group is very active: we create content that we share on LinkedIn, and we regularly organise virtual events to guide APMP members through the ever-changing complexity of Social Value in the UK. My annual attendance of the Big One, the APMP UK annual conference, is one of the highlights of my year: I love to meet my peers, I always find it so refreshing to talk to people who actually understand what I do in my daily job. The topics covered during the Conference sessions keep us up to date with what is happening in the industry, and are thought-provoking: I always bring back lots to share with my colleagues and I use the new content to update my own bid process.
I’ve been involved with APMP for many years, leveraging so many benefits. The Foundation Certificate was something I embedded for all graduate starters when I ran my own business, helping them gain essential skills at pace. Corporate membership was an easy choice. The conference and events programme has offered essential networking in building my own personal connections within the proposal community over the years, and an opportunity to share some of my own experiences. More recently, volunteering with the APMP UK Procurement Focus Group has also challenged and developed me personally. Like many others, I’m proud to be APMP!
