Leonie Thomas is a senior bid writer with over 20 years’ experience working on complex, high-value bids across construction, infrastructure and the built environment.
She has authored major bids, working closely with bid managers, technical SMEs and senior leaders to develop clear, persuasive responses aligned to client priorities by translating complex technical information into strong bid narratives.
Leonie is Chair of the APMP UK Bid Writing Focus Group, leading national work to define bid writing as a skilled, intentional profession. Her focus includes career pathways, professional recognition and guidance on the ethical and effective use of AI in bid writing.
Alongside her APMP UK role, Leonie works with organisations as a senior bid writer and advisor, supporting improvements in bid quality, storytelling and overall work-winning capability. She is also an active speaker and contributor to industry conversations, regularly sharing insight on bid writing practice, professional standards and the evolving role of the bid writer.
