Bio
I’m Mel Bunston, currently serving as the Special Projects Officer for APMP UK. Having been part of this incredible community for several years, I’ve had the privilege of holding various roles including Chief Events Officer, Deputy CEO, and CEO. Last year, I was honoured to receive the Chapter Leader of the Year award—an acknowledgment that reflects the collective effort and passion of the volunteers and professionals who make APMP UK so special.
My journey with APMP UK has been deeply rewarding, allowing me to contribute to the growth of our profession and support members across all stages of their careers. From developing engaging events to leading strategic initiatives and setting the Common Operating Model of the Chapter. I’ve loved being part of a team that values collaboration, learning, and impact. In my current role, I’m focused on driving forward key projects that enhance the member experience and strengthen the Chapter’s future.
Outside of APMP UK, I work as a Senior Capture Manager at QinetiQ, where I lead complex bids and capture strategies in the defence and security sector. Balancing this with my voluntary role has been both challenging and energising, and I’m continually inspired by the dedication of those around me. Being part of APMP UK is more than a role—it’s a community I’m proud to champion.
